IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alvin Wayne
Foley Jr.
July 1, 1953 – March 7, 2025
Alvin Wayne Foley, Jr., of Kellyville, was called to Heaven to dwell in the glory of God our father on Friday, March 7, 2025, at the age of 71. He had a good day of vigorous work at his farm home where he had lived his whole life when he heard God call.
Wayne was born on July 1, 1953, in Tulsa, OK to Wayne and Gwen Foley, also of Kellyville. He completed a two-year diesel mechanic course at Central Vo Tech in Drumright, OK while attending Kellyville High School. After graduating in 1971, he proudly joined the United States Navy in 1973. After basic training in Orlando, Florida, he was sent to San Diego, California to join the crew of the USS Thomaston. Wayne served as a fireman and mechanic in the boiler room on the ship during its tour of duty to the Philippines, before being reassigned to Vietnam until his discharge in 1976. He returned to his childhood home in Kellyville, OK where he spent the rest of his years. Wayne went to work for Bank Note Printing in Tulsa, OK starting at the bottom of the ladder and learning to work all the stations in the shop earning his way to shop manager before retiring in 2021.
When Wayne wasn't working, he was most likely fishing. Fishing was his favorite pastime even in his youth. Fishing was imprinted on Wayne's brain by his dad, Wayne Sr., his Grandpa Broom and his Uncle Bud at a young age and he never lost interest in the sport. Many hours were spent on the banks of Polecat Creek, one of his favorite places to fish.
Wayne loved animals and always had a tender heart for their needs or suffering. He especially loved his two current house kitties, Theo and Ruby. They brought him much joy and companionship during the hours of the day when he was alone.
Wayne was also a gardener and farmer; skills he learned from his parents growing up when growing food was a necessity. He loved to share this knowledge with those who were interested. Growing food led to his love of cooking where he became pretty talented in the kitchen. In fact, Wayne was in his kitchen preparing to get dinner ready for him and Andy when God called him home.
Wayne was a husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, nephew, farmer, cook, and so much more. Many will miss his presence and will thank him for his kindness and his willingness to help. He is loved very much.
Wayne is preceded in death by his wife, Paula, whom he married in 1990, father, Alvin Wayne Foley, Sr., and brother Larry D. Foley.
He is survived by children James and Holly Foley of Kellyville, Alesha and Andy Spoon of Sand Springs, John Hahn of Tulsa, and Andrew Foley of the home; grandchildren Mila, Adrian, Adalyn (Addy), Alex, Kennady, and Jackson; mother Gwen Foley of Kellyville; sisters Karen Reed and Gary of Duncan, Oklahoma and Sherry Swanson and David of Eucha, Oklahoma.
