IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Belle
Smith
February 2, 1933 – January 24, 2024
Lillie Belle Smith, 90, of Sapulpa passed from this life peacefully on January 24th, 2024.
Belle was born on February 2nd, 1933 to Harvey and Louise Southerland in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She quickly fell in love at a young age and married her lifelong partner Richard Aaron Smith in November 1950. Together, they had three children. As a young family, they lived for many years in Sand Springs and Tulsa before settling in the Sapulpa area in 1967. She attended June Rose Assembly of God for most of her adult life but found a new home in more recent years at Assurance Church. As a homemaker, Belle enjoyed what she would call "piddling around her house" to keep herself occupied. She could always be found humming a tune and baking something in the oven. She never found a dessert she didn't like. When asked about her favorite food, her answer was always something sweet. Belle enjoyed going for walks outside, playing card games with friends and family, her weekly hair appointments, and making sure her family knew they were well loved.
Belle was a gracious, kind, and gentle woman and a devout believer in God. As the matriarch of her family, she will be missed terribly.
Belle is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years Richard Smith, son Ricky Smith, daughter Vonda Arnell, sisters Helen Livingston and Ellen Morgan, and a precious great great grandson Jaxtyn Tyler Rovang.
Belle is survived by son Randy Smith and his wife Sandy, son-in-law David Arnell, grandchildren Stan Smith, Jamie Rovang and husband David, Holly Huckleby and husband Jami, and Russell Arnell. Eight great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to thank Clarehouse for their kindness and hospitality while taking care of Belle in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Belle's memory to Clarehouse, 7617 S Mingo Rd. Tulsa, OK 74133.
Services will be held Monday, January 29th at 2pm at Assurance Church, 6570 W. 176th Street S, Mounds, OK 74047.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 28th from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
