Obituary

Betty Lester, 88, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Iris Memory Care of Tulsa, surrounded by her family.

Betty was born December 12, 1937, in Purcell, OK to Rudy and Leva Coker. She attended Bethel High School in Shawnee, OK. She was a stay-at-home mom until the girls were a little older, then she worked briefly for Allied Stamp Company in Sand Springs, Dan Jones Veterinary Clinic, Sapulpa Herald and she also had a dog grooming service in Sapulpa.

Betty enjoyed spending time at the lake with family in earlier years where they loved water skiing. She enjoyed living in the country, horseback riding, barrel racing, fishing, gardening, and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. Betty and J.D. enjoyed vacationing all over the United States and Canada. Their favorite place was Buena Vista, Colorado, where they loved fishing for trout. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a wonderful cook! Betty was always ready for family get togethers.

She is survived by daughters Pam McGuire and son-in-law Gary of Sapulpa, Brenda Wood of Tulsa, son-in-law Mark Wood of Jenks; grandchildren Brandon McGuire (Jackie), Brandi Ennis (Jeremy), Emily Oldham (Luke), Joshua Wood (Courtney); great grandchildren Logan, Kaden, Rylan, Grayson and Selah McGuire and Autumn Bradley, Jonah and River Ennis, Jacob and Dason Wood and Ruby Oldham; great-great grandchildren Finley, Luke and Ezekial Bradley and Silas McGuire; brothers Jim Coker (Pat), Phillip Coker (Delores), Martha Lanier (Darrell), sister-in-law Billie Coker and a host of relatives and friends.

A very special thank you to a very special and loving caregiver Lori Harris and a very dedicated and loving caregiver at the Iris, Taylor Sells. Taylor has a very special gift and calling on her life. They both took care of mom. We love you both!
