Obituary

Beverly Jean Boyd 78, of Sapulpa, stepped into heaven on January 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.

Beverly was born May 8, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to Robert C Smith and Nellie L. Karr. She graduated from Las Cruces New Mexico High School. She later met and married Paul Edwin Boyd, the love of her life of 50 years. They both loved and raised three children, Crystal Lynn Evans, Paula Denae Boyd, and Jolen Lee Boyd. She worked in the trucking industry as a bookkeeper and dispatcher for several years before retiring while residing in Sapulpa, Oklahoma for 53 years.

Beverly attended North Heights Baptist Church with her family and assisted with accounting and secretarial tasks at South Heights Baptist Church after transferring from North Heights Baptist.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Paula, her parents, and two sisters Darlene Collins and Roberta Stevens.

Beverly enjoyed pottery, painting, puzzles, and (watching Judge Judy, Andy Griffith, and The Young and Restless with her daughter Christy Boyd). She seized every opportunity to collect pictures and art depicting the New Mexico skyline and landscape. Beverly would often take vacations and opportunities to return to New Mexico with her family and sometimes alone to visit extended family and friends. She enjoyed planting cacti and other native plants from the desert at her home to remind her of the desert with another benefit of it requiring little water.

She was known to always provide a cup of warm soup and loving touch to her family in times of need and sickness as she had done many times over. Oftentimes she sacrificed to care for her family as she did in caring for her daughter, Paula Boyd while she battled breast cancer which she later succumb to while living with Beverly in her home. Then again with her husband as he became ill after suffering an aneurysm, caring for him to his passing while living in the home.

She maintained an active lifestyle with her husband Paul before his death by attending numerous birthdays, activities, sporting events, and anniversaries of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. After the loss of her husband, she continued following her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren through their success in life and could always be seen on the sidelines of a soccer or football field or in the seats of a concert, graduation or watching her grandsons reach new heights taking off and landing at the airport. She became confined to her home because of medical complications in May of 2022. Even with medical restrictions, Beverly had many opportunities to fellowship and celebrate life with her family on holidays and special occasions within her home.

Beverly is survived by her children Christy Lynn Evans (daughter) and husband Wayne of Sapulpa, Jolen Lee Boyd (son) and his wife Stacie of Slick; grandchildren Jason Evans and wife Ashley of Tulsa, Jonathan Evans and wife Becky of Collinsville, Jesse Evans with the love of his life Monica Hernandez of Bixby, Zachariah Thomas Paul Boyd and wife Casey of Euless Texas, and Gabriel Josiah Lee Boyd of Slick, Oklahoma; great- grandchildren Hayli Evans, Kaydinse Evans, Landen Evans, and Remi Evans; and extended family, Mary Anderson, Wanda Wade, Maudie Smart, Earl Stevens, and numerous nieces and nephews.
