IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bonita Faye
Guinn
February 11, 1938 – June 27, 2023
Bonita Faye Guinn departed from this life to her heavenly home on June 27, 2023. She was born February 11, 1938, in Bristow, Oklahoma. She often spoke about her childhood home and school, Dunham School, near Kellyville. When she was young, her family went to California and Oregon as migrant farmers to pick cotton, hops, and various other crops. After she graduated from Kellyville High School, she married and had two daughters, Kathy and Anita. In 1967, she met and married Don Guinn who had two children, Craig and Debbie. In 1968, Don and Bonita had a daughter, Cindy. Bonita was part of a blended family long before that became a well-known phrase. She now was taking care of 5 children in the 1970's on a limited budget. She selflessly sacrificed and made sure all the children had clean clothes (often handsewn and ironed daily) and 3 meals every day. Importantly, she made sure the children attended church every Sunday. Later on, Bonita worked at Sapulpa Nursing Center and St. John Hospital as a dietary aide. In her later years, Bonita enjoyed being a grandmother and spoiling her grandchildren.
Bonita was preceded in death by her husband Donald Guinn, and both of her parents Marion and Opal Shockley.
She is survived by her sister Euleta Ramsey of Texarkana, Texas; brother Woodrow Shockley of Bristow, Oklahoma; son Craig Guinn and wife Linda; daughters Debbie Ketter, Kathy Kinsey, Anita Pickett and daughter Cindy Barrett and husband Buford; grandchildren Shelly Riggs and husband Jason, Christina McGee and husband Calvin, Stacy Johnson and husband Nick, Shelby Pickett, Justin Barrett and wife Ashleigh, Ty Barrett and wife Kaylyn, Marci Taggart and husband James; great-grandchildren Madyson Barr and husband Chris, Hayden Riggs, Kiera McGee, Calvin McGee, Hunter Taggert, Scout Taggart, Silas Johnson, Alexandria Barrett, and great-great children Kovax Barr and King Wilkerson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We are also thankful to Compassus Hospice for their care and service.
