Her adventurous spirit, generous heart, and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Brenda Kay Hampton, 66, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed from this life and gained her heavenly wings on July 5, 2026, while enjoying a fun weekend at the lake surrounded by family and friends.

Brenda was born on July 23, 1959, to Barbara Jean Phillips and Wadie Wallace Hampton. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her father Wadie Hampton, husband Clint Higgins and nephew Shane Wade Gantz.

Brenda graduated from Sapulpa High School, where she was active in the Ping Pings dance troupe. She later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Nazarene University.

Brenda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sapulpa.

While performing as a cheerleader for Tulsa Outlaws professional American football team, she met Clint Higgins, a judge, and they later married.

For many years, Brenda enjoyed a successful career as an oil and gas landman, working at various locations throughout the country. More recently, she worked first as a right-of-way agent and then a senior real estate agent for the Public Service Company of Oklahoma. Brenda was an active member of the American Association of Professional Landmen.

Often unconventional, Brenda was well-known for her wild hats, fringe boots, and colorful outfits.

Later in life, Brenda unexpectedly reconnected with a former classmate, Ricky Reynolds, and he became her soulmate. They shared many of the same interests, such as fishing, camping, and boating, but especially a love for adventure. Brenda and Ricky loved riding motorcycles across the country with friends, making wonderful memories along the way.

Brenda lived life with a true sense of adventure. She enjoyed skydiving, snow skiing, trips to the mountains, riding roller coasters, floating down the Illinois River, attending concerts, competing in pool tournaments, and even earned a black belt in karate. She especially loved being near the water, although she often spent more time soaking up the sunshine than actually getting in it.

Brenda was well known for her love of animals. One such animal was Kona, her African grey parrot, known for the different phrases she taught him to speak. Her latest fur baby, Gunny, was a small black Pug, her constant companion and travel buddy when she was working out of state and came home often to visit family.

Brenda was a force of nature who will truly be missed. She loved fiercely, gave her time and energy to those in need, and didn't expect anything in return. She was energetic, friendly, upbeat, fun, compassionate, always smiling, and an explosion of enthusiasm. Her adventurous spirit, generous heart, and love for life left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Brenda is survived by her mother Barbara Hampton; her sisters Rhonda Gantz and Phyllis Klaassen and husband Johnny; her nephews Gunnar Klaassen and wife Jenny, Randy Gantz and wife Crissa; great-nephews Logan Klaassen, Nathan Klaassen and Bryce Gantz; great-niece Kalie Noftsger and husband Jake and great-great-nieces Aspen and Falyn Noftsger.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.

Services will be 10 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main, Kellyville.
