IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Buster
Coonce
March 14, 1943 – March 9, 2024
Charles Buster Coonce of Sapulpa, OK, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2024, peacefully in his home surrounded by family at the age of 80.
He was born at home in Jenks, OK on March 14, 1943, to Charles and Viola Coonce. He was raised on a vegetable farm and was used to hard work and long days. He carried that into adulthood where he gardened every Summer, growing some of his favorite veggies like tomatoes, watermelon and cantaloupe and sharing his knowledge with his daughter and granddaughters.
After graduating from Sapulpa High School in 1961, Charles and Frances eloped and in 1963 had their only child, Cheryl. He then took his work ethic into his career at Safeway where his former co-workers say he could work circles around everyone else. He retired from there after 30 years.
After retiring, Charles enjoyed spending a lot of his time attending his grandchildren's sporting and band events. He seldom missed a game or contest and always quietly sat and watched. He also loved tending to his garden, searching Craigslist, watching tv and cooking.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Coonce, brother Ronald Coonce Sr, and his wife of 57 years, Frances "Sis".
Charles is survived by his daughter Cheryl Fulbright and husband Randy Fulbright, Sister Katherine Baker and husband Henry Baker, sister-in-law Sue Coonce, grandchildren Crystal McCawley and husband Billy McCawley III, Amber Hogue and husband Michael Hogue Jr, Marissa Fulbright, and great-grandchildren Tinlie, Reagan, and Grayson.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be 2pm, Friday, March 15, 2024, also at Traditions Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 74039.
