IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Ray
Lawrence
November 30, 1939 – November 10, 2022
Charles Ray Lawrence passed from this life on November 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Charles was born November 30, 1939, in rural Muskogee County to Cecil Ray Lawrence and Claudia May Lawrence. He graduated from Webbers Falls High School in 1957 and received his associate degree from Claremore Junior College in 1973. He was employed by Frank W Murphy Manufacturing and retired in 2001 after 40 years.
One of his most proud accomplishments was serving his country. Charles joined the Army National Guard at the age of 17. After 2 ½ years he requested and received a discharge so that he could join the Navy where he served for 3 ½ years as a photographer.
Charles met and married the love of his life, Yvonne Mayo in 1973. On September 4 th they celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Charles had a love of nature and enjoyed hunting, four wheeling, camping and traveling in his RV. When at home you could always find him outside in the evening with his dog and visiting with the neighbors. He enjoyed football and was an avid OU Sooner fan.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, 2 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne; children Mary Kathleen Buford (Tom), Charles Ray Lawrence Jr (Shannon), Jeffrey Lynn Lawrence (Sandy) and Lisa Jerri Vanegas; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, soon to be 12, and a host of other relatives and friends.
