Obituary

Charles Junior Warren, 95, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 4, 2025, at his home, with his daughters by his side.

Charles was born on February 19, 1930, in Kellyville, Oklahoma to parents H.J. and Clara Ellen Warren.  The family soon moved to Sapulpa, where he resided for the rest of his life.

He spent most of his working years employed with Bartlett-Collins Glass Co. in Sapulpa.  He started work there as a floor boy and worked his way up to foreman on the plain layers, retiring from B-C after 33 ½ years.

In his early years of working at B-C, he met Margaret (or Tootsie, as she was known to family).  He said he thought she was the prettiest woman he'd ever seen.  Not too long afterward, they were married, built a house, and started raising a family.  They were married nearly 40 years, until Margaret passed away from cancer in 1990.

He was a member of Glenwood Assembly of God church for over 50 years.  He currently attended Calvary Hill Assembly of God.  Going to church on Sunday was the highlight of every week.

Charles enjoyed many years of raising purple martins and bluebirds in his backyard.  Once retired, he also enjoyed walking the trail at Kelly Lane Park, feeding the ducks there, and picking up lots of stray softballs he found along the way and returning them.  He enjoyed tending the colorful morning glories that climbed his back fence and took great pride in their beauty.  And he and his best fishing buddy, his daughter Kathryn, spent many hours on the banks of local ponds and lakes, enjoying some peaceful and lazy days together, whether or not they had a big catch.

He was a generous and caring man, always looking for a way he might help, whatever the situation.  He loved life. He was blessed to be healthy enough, in both body and mind, to live independently for all of his long life.  God was very gracious to him.  He was well loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Charles is survived by his two daughters:  Clara Ann Hutchings (husband Jerry) of Bristow, Oklahoma and Kathryn Pierce of Winslow, Arizona.

He has 5 grandchildren:  Robert Brown (Bobbie) of Norman, Oklahoma; Shannon Gilbert (Barry) of Bristow, Oklahoma; Charles Pierce of Winslow, Arizona; Gabrielle Mandeville (Steven) of Bixby, Oklahoma; and James Pierce (Tiffany) of Gallup, New Mexico.

He has 15 great-grandchildren:  Alexandra Oloizia (Jacob); Michael "Max" and William Brown; Maegan, Aidan, Norah, and Calvin Gilbert; Emily and Brooklyn Pierce; Kirsten Tadlock; Orion Pierce; Sadie, Sutton, Lucy, and Barrett Mandeville; and others who also called him "Grandpa."

He was blessed with one great-great grandchild, Daisy Oloizia, and is survived by a host of family and friends.

The family would like to express their thanks to all the staff for the expert and compassionate medical care Charles received at Ascension St. John in Sapulpa and particularly to Dr. Cody Miller.  Complete OK Hospice (Sharon and Teresa) ministered great care and comfort to us, as well.
