IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Danell
Barry
January 28, 1940 – January 24, 2024
DaNell Barry, age 83, of Las Cruces, NM, passed away on January 24, 2024. She was born on January 28, 1940, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Joseph Benjamin (Dutch) Stafford and Hettie Leona Stafford.
DaNell was a proud United States Air Force wife for 20 years. She supported her husband, Jerry W. Barry, throughout his military career. After Jerry's retirement, the couple returned to Oklahoma, where DaNell began working with Miss Elaine, a garment factory in Bristow. Little did she know that it would turn into a fulfilling career full of people that she loved. There were company changes to Southwest Cupid, and DaNell embraced the new challenges.
Following the closure of Southwest Cupid, DaNell started a career with RCB Bank. She thrived in her role as the first-person customers would meet when entering the bank. Known for her friendly smile and positive attitude, DaNell made everyone feel welcome. She especially cherished the children who would come in for candy and the people who would visit while doing their banking.
In her later years while living in New Mexico, DaNell could be found reading her Bible and visiting with her sister Elnora and niece Bobbie on the phone while sitting on a swing in the front yard. She and the postman even exchanged scripture notes for each to read! She also loved receiving photos from grandchildren in the mail and often spent hours looking at old photos and new ones.
DaNell was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She deeply felt the loss of her beloved husband, Jerry, and missed him greatly. It is with great joy that we know that she is with Jesus! The reunion with her husband Jerry, parents, sisters and others must have been beautiful. DaNell is survived by her son, Wayne Barry, and his wife Melody; her daughter, Dana Barry-Brown, and her husband Stephen; her daughter, Robin Barry; her brother, Larry Stafford, and his wife Linda; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She had a great love for her family, and her quiver was full, as stated in Psalms 127:3-5 of the Holy Bible.
DaNell found solace in her faith and attended Countryside Church of Christ in Bristow, Oklahoma, and University Community Church in Las Cruces, NM.
Services for DaNell Barry will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunrise Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma. For more information, please contact them at 918-247-7373.
DaNell Barry will be remembered for her unwavering support as a military wife, her fulfilling career, and her deep love for her family. She will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
