Daniel William Bryan, 70, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, departed this life and entered his Heavenly home on July 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born on December 11, 1955, in Sedalia, Missouri, to David M. Bryan and Margie E. Bryan. He grew up in Topeka, Kansas, where he graduated from Topeka West High School. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in Business from Kansas State University in 1979. While attending Kansas State, Dan was a proud member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity and served as Rush Chairman in 1976.

In 1980, Dan moved to Tulsa to work for a Medical Supply Company. During his time in Tulsa, he met the love of his life and soulmate, Kim Basinger Bryan. Their story began on the very street where they still lived together, just a few miles from where they first met. They got engaged in Paris, France, and were married on October 2, 1982, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Kim's childhood hometown.

After their marriage, Dan joined his family's business Bryan World Travel, and opened a new office in Irving, Texas; where they made their home for 16 years. After making the decision to sell the business they moved back to Tulsa

Dan then began a successful career in the health insurance industry, where he found great fulfillment helping others navigate their healthcare needs. He briefly stepped away to manage NTR Metals, opening offices in several states during the height of the gold boom. Eventually, however, he returned to the health insurance field with Health Markets, where his compassion, integrity, and genuine concern for others made a lasting impact.

In recent years, Dan was diagnosed with the rare neurological disease Cerebellar Ataxia. After years of uncertainty and several misdiagnoses, Kim was able to secure an appointment for him at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where they spent much of 2025 undergoing extensive testing. Once Dan finally had answers, he faced his diagnosis with remarkable courage, educating himself about the disease and approaching every challenge with determination and grit.

"Dan the Man" was, above all, a family man, a friend, a hardworking man, and everyone's "Handy Dan." His love for his family was unwavering. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He loved traveling, scuba diving, and sports, he was a Kansas City Chiefs fan and was a devoted K State Wildcat. Dan and Kim planned to attend a Kansas State football game in early September, to reunite with many of his fraternity brothers.

Before becoming parents, Dan and Kim enjoyed traveling the world together. In 1984, Dan served alongside his father as tour leaders of the 40th annual Bryan World Seminar Tour, leading nearly 100 travelers through nine countries. One unforgettable highlight of the journey was meeting Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on the grounds of her Royal Palace Residence. The tour concluded with a visit to Germany to experience the renowned Passion Play in Oberammergau. It was a trip both cherished sharing with his parents.

Even in death, Dan continued helping others. As a registered organ donor, he was able to save two lives and further kidney research through LifeShare of Oklahoma—a final act of generosity that reflected the way he lived his life.

He is preceded in death by his parents David M. and Margie E. Bryan, brothers-in-law Robert Basinger and Jeff Sparks and nephew Nick Sparks. 

Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 43½ years, Kim Bryan, of the home; his daughter, Kate Friday and husband Joey, and their children, Hartley and Phoenix, all of Tulsa; his son, Barrett Bryan and partner Katy Lynn, of Tulsa; his sister, Margie Rogers and husband Steve of Topeka, Kansas; his brother, Ed Bryan and wife Elaine of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina; his brother, Dave Bryan and wife Marty of Derby, Kansas; and his sister-in-law, Kay Sparks of Tulsa.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews: Beth Reimer and husband Chuck and their children Steven, Jacob, and Zachariah of Topeka, Kansas; Bryan Rogers and wife Lisa and their children Brandon, Ava, and Megan of Annapolis, Maryland; Susan Jasso and husband John and their children Anne Marie, Kyrie, Gloria, Michael, Genevieve, Stella, and Gabrielle of Ava Maria, Florida; Andrea Leiker and her children Brayden, Ashley, Aubrey, and Brody; Ann Elise Irick and husband Matt and their children Ben, Charlie, Sam, Henry, and Anna Kate of Derby, Kansas; Ali Herring and husband Aaron and their children Riley, Laney, and Abe of Derby, Kansas; Aimee Oesterreich and husband Justin and their children Logan and Madi of Shawnee, Kansas; Kelley and Bryan McNeal and son Collin of Summerville, South Carolina; Casey Bryan of Topeka, Kansas; niece Kate Metzger and husband, Kurt and their son Henry of Aubrey, Texas; Jason Sparks and wife Kelsey and their children Jackson and Bennett of Tulsa; and Aidan Sparks and girlfriend Kayla Randall of Tulsa.

He is also survived by his aunts, Martha Carter of Springfield, Missouri, and Maxine Casey of Adamstown, Maryland; and uncle, Bob Bryan of West Plains, Missouri; along with many cousins and countless dear friends.

A celebration of Dan's life will be held at Praise Center Ministries, 5672 E. Highway 117, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Randy Lynn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Praise Center Ministries Children's Playground Fund. The vision for the playground originated with Dan's late brother-in-law, Jeff Sparks, who preceded him in death in 2024. Dan shared Jeff's love for children, and nowhere was that more evident than in the joy and devotion he showed every day to his beloved grandchildren, Hartley and Phoenix.

Dan leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. Though we miss him deeply already, his love remains with us in every memory, every lesson, and every life he touched. What he gave to those around him does not end here—it lives on in all of us.
