David was a graduate of North High School in Wichita, Kansas, Class of 1958. He attended classes at both Phillips University and the University of Tulsa, receiving his associate degree from Cedar Valley College, Dallas, Texas. David was employed by Wilbert Vault Company from 1962-2023.
David was a Boy Scout and completed his Eagle Scout in 1956. He loved classic cars and working with his sons on cars and projects around the house. He looked forward to his yearly hunting trips too. He was a member of the Corvette Car Club and was a certified judge for Corvette Classic Cars.
David's greatest accomplishment is seen in the lives of his family - his wife, sons and daughters-in-law; grandchildren and the extended family he held so dear. With a soft voice and firm conviction, David taught his sons to work hard, how to serve God and others and how to love their wives and care for their children. His love for his wife was evident to all those who saw the adoration in his eyes when he talked to her or spoke of her.
It was David's honor to serve First Christian Church as both Deacon and Elder as well as Trustee and Financial Secretary. As a member of the Joint Heirs Class, David and Sue walked through life with cherished friends and grew in their relationships with Jesus Christ.
