David Lewis Dennison Sr was called home on Thursday, December 15, 2022. David was born on February 6, 1942, to George and Josephine (Nez) Dennison in Naschitti, NM.
David attended Chuska boarding school and later attended Welding school in Dallas, TX where he met the love of his life, Sally Elizabeth Rolland. They were soon to be married and moved to Oklahoma, where they started their family.
David was a member of the Navajo Nation. He was also a member of the Native American Church-Yuchi Chapter and Polecat (Kellyville) Ceremonial ground. David was longtime employee of Maloney-Crawford. He was a welder and fitter by trade and member of the Brotherhood of Boilermakers.
David enjoyed going to Native American Church services, attended ceremonial dances, and watching his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren play sports. His hobbies included bead work, fishing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was always willing to help, share his knowledge, or give guidance any time that he was called upon. David was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He was a force of good and positivity. He enjoyed coaching softball and bowling in his younger years.
David is survived by his daughter Jessica (Bunny) Dennison Frazier of Sapulpa, OK. Daughter Daniele Dennison of Sapulpa, OK. Grandson Jason Dennison and Great-Granddaughter Lindsey Ellen Dennison of Sapulpa, OK. Grandson Alex Dennison, his wife Fallon, Great-Granddaughter Kristin and Great-Grandson Kolton of Okmulgee, OK. Granddaughter Chelsea and Blake Long and Great-Granddaughters Daelynn and Colbie Long of Tulsa, OK. Granddaughter Lindsey Nicole and Bradley Hicks of Sapulpa, OK. And numerous Relatives and Friends.
David is preceded in death by his parents George and Josephine (Nez) Dennison. His wife Sally Elizabeth (Rolland) Dennison. Brother Andrew Dennison Sr, Sister Eleanor Largo. Son David Lewis Dennison Jr, Daughters Elizabeth Denise Dennison, Tina Louise Dennison and Dawn Dennison Devorse. And Grandson Derrick Drake Lena.
The family of David Lewis Dennison, Sr. would like to thank everyone for their kind expressions of love and comfort. We are so thankful for your thoughts, prayers, calls, messages, visits, support and expressions of love. May God continue to Bless each and every one of you!!
Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Sunday, December 18, 2022, at Traditions Funeral Chape in Kellyville. Graveside services will be 11:00am, Monday, December 19, 2022, at Watashe Family Cemetery in Sapulpa. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
