David Roy Friend, 81, of Kellyville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2024. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family and loved ones. David was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma on July 14, 1943, to Clarence and Ruby Friend.

David was a family man who enjoyed helping others in whichever way he could. A truck driver by trade, David spent many years helping others with yard work, clean up, small construction jobs and many other projects. David took pride in each and every job he did and passed that on to those around him. David enjoyed listening to gospel music, and attended the North Heights Holiness Church, in Sapulpa where he always found his faith and strong fellowship.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ruby Friend, his sisters, Ruth, Shirley, and Dorothy, his brothers Lonnie and Franklin, first wife Donna and his granddaughter, Brittany.

David is survived by his children, David and Brenda Friend of Kellyville, Jerry Friend of Sapulpa, Richard and Joellen Friend of Sapulpa, Carl and Andrea Friend of Tulsa, Sheila and Steven Matlock of Sapulpa, Donnie (DJ) and Patricia Perkins of Twin Hills, and Michelle and Nelson Rossy, 19 grandchildren, and 34 great grandchildren.

David will be loved and missed by many and leaves a long legacy behind.

Visitation will be 6-8pm, Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be 2pm, Friday, November 1, 2024, also at Traditions Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Kellyville City Cemetery.
