IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah Lynn
Barrett
June 29, 1955 – July 20, 2021
Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Barrett, 66, of Mounds, Oklahoma received her wings on July 20, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Debbie was born June 29, 1955, in Purcell, Oklahoma to Fray and Euna Faye Taber.
Debbie was the seventh of nine children and graduated from McLain High School in Tulsa in 1973. She attended some college and soon went to work for Broken Arrow Medical Center later St. Francis Broken Arrow in the patient records and billing department. Being very good with bookkeeping and numbers and becoming very efficient with a ten key, Debbie very quickly worked her way up to office manager and later also worked from home keeping records for doctors with independent practices around the Tulsa area. In her spare time back then, Debbie was also known to dress in full clown attire or as Minnie Pearl, a famous staple from the Grand Ol' Opry, and go to different patients' rooms to cheer them up.
Having already had her daughter Tawnya, Debbie met and married Terry Burcham of Sand Springs, Oklahoma with whom she had her son Wink. Later, Debbie would remarry to her current husband Danny Barrett of Mounds, Oklahoma, along with his two children Chase and Danielle. For the past two decades Debbie and Danny have loved and cared for one another and enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and of course frequently attending the Moose Lodge in Tulsa, where she and her brother and sisters and many other friends and family would commence and listen to her brother's band, dance, and sing karaoke.
Debbie had a very spunky and feisty personality with a warrior's spirit and yet also had the sweetest and most kind gentle soul. There was nothing she wouldn't do for a stranger, much less those closest to her. She would always say things like "well… no matter where you are, that's where you are" and "let your conscience be your guide." A couple of the many ideals and good morals she instilled in her children. Make the best of every situation, no matter where or what it is and always do what you think is right, even when no one is watching.
Debbie is survived by her husband Danny Barrett; children Tawnya, Wink, Chase and Danielle; grandchildren Elizabeth, Corbin, Ryland and very soon Jude, the newest addition to the family; brothers Les and Kenny; sisters Kay, Freda and Dorthy and a whole host of many other relatives and friends. Debbie never met a stranger.
