IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Deborah Lynn
Cain
October 24, 1948 – June 30, 2025
Deborah Lynn Cain was welcomed into the tender arms of our Heavenly Father June 30, 2025. She was surrounded in love by family in her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Debby was born October 24, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas to Doris and Gail Baxter. She graduated from Wichita Southeast High School in 1966, then received her bachelor's degree in education in 1970 from Emporia State University. In her career and ministries, she was dedicated to shaping young minds and inspiring a love for learning. Her own passion for learning led her to earn her master's degree in special education in 2006. Debby was a beloved mother, wife, and friend, an eternal encourager, and a lifelong researcher. Debby's personal relationships were her most prized possessions. First came her relationship with Christ. Throughout her life, she shared the good news of Jesus Christ every chance she had. She and Jim have led many friends to faith in Jesus. Next was her marriage to the love of her life, Jim. They shared 54 years of dedication to one another. They were forever companions through life's adventures. Debby was always by Jim's side as his encourager, director, administrator, driving instructor, dance partner, and rummy teammate. Together they had two daughters. Stacy was born in 1973, and Jaime was born in 1977. Debby empowered her children to pursue their dreams while always being there to foster their self-discovery. The girls were their pride and joy, UNTIL grandchildren arrived. Debby and Jim made a lifestyle of celebrating their grandbabies, Braxton, Aidan, Kate and Andrew. If they could possibly get to the game, recital, graduation, or school program, they were there. And even as the grandkids grow into young adults, Debby and Jim have continued loving on them and spoiling them as only Grandma and Papa can do.
Socially, Debby was the first one to find a friend to visit with, the last one to leave a gathering, and an expert at loving anyone into deep conversation. If you've known her long, you've likely had more than a few long chats and you've told her all about your family's latest excitement. Debby loved to listen. She treasured the details of the lives of loved ones, and she never forgot a detail, which was a little frustrating for her daughters during those teen years. Debby was always the one taking the photos. She found joy and peace near water, whether next to a flowing fountain, reading at the lake, or swimming her laps in the pool. Throughout her life during healthy and sick times, she stayed committed to her Christian values and bold in her proclamations. There is no doubt that many healthcare workers found Jesus through her.
We will cherish EVERY wonderful memory of our Mama and the incredible life she lived. She taught us to live and love deeply. We will carry all those life lessons throughout our days and keep her precious memory in our hearts forever! We love you, Mama!
