Donald Jay Hight, 76, of Sapulpa, passed from this life Saturday, November 28, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 18, 1944 in Waurika, Oklahoma to Everett Eugene and Ruth Elizabeth Hight.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Army where he served a tour in Vietnam. He retired, after over 50 years working in the oil industry. With Halliburton, he worked in Cushing, Enid, and Bristow, Oklahoma and starting in 1974, he and his family enjoyed several years of living overseas in Libya, Ecuador and Venezuela. He enjoyed working outside and also loved farming, horses and cooking but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Don was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by his sons Kevin Don Hight and wife India of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Sean Jay Hight and wife Kim of Kellyville, Oklahoma; daughters Elizabeth Marie Summers and husband Doug of Jenks, Oklahoma and Jayme Lynn Kimball and husband Matt of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren Carrie and Josh Wyren, Emeree and Landree Hight, Allison and Ryan Storer, Austin Hight, Isabella Williams, Aiden and Aubree Kimball; Great Grandchildren, Emily and Eli Wyren; and sisters Carolyn Burton and husband Don of Lawton, Oklahoma and Jackie Wood and husband James of Las Cruces, New Mexico.
He is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Ruth Hight.
There will be a visitation Monday, November 30, 2020 between 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main in Kellyville, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. also in Traditions Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. at Hastings Cemetery in Hastings, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services in Kellyville, 918-247-7373. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas ( www.dscnwa.com )
