IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald "Junior"
Ray Burgan Jr.
October 13, 1963 – January 31, 2024
OUR JUNIOR
Donald Ray Burgan, Jr (known by friends and loved ones as "Junior") of Kellyville was called home on January 31, 2024, surrounded by those who loved him most.
Junior was born on October 13, 1963, in Stroud Oklahoma to Donald and Shirley Burgan. He was a 1981 graduate of Kellyville High School where he began his love for sports. He played both baseball and football, football being his first love. After graduation, he received a football scholarship to Panhandle State University where he helped his team win the 1984 Sunflower Bowl. He remained at PSU playing football until 1985. He was later inducted into the Panhandle State Football Hall of Fame on January 16, 2015.
After college, Junior became an Industrial Automation Technician. He worked at Kwikset for about 12 years. He finally found his home at Webco Industries – Kellyville, or the last 17 years. He loved working at Webco because he worked with some of his best friends.
He found his calling in Carpentry. Junior could make just about anything. He spent his entire adult life creating and building art through wood working. He enjoyed his last 5 years making all kinds of home décor items out of wood, including bedside tables and coffee tables, all beautifully crafted with different designs, colors and shapes. On his days off, you could always find him in his shop.
There was not a single person who was a bigger fan of Sooner Football than Junior. He faithfully watched every single football game, taking as many chances as he could to attend games throughout the seasons. He was well known as "the guy that lives in the OU house" because his house was not only covered in memorabilia inside but even on the outside.
Junior had many major loves in his life. He had many stepchildren who he adored so dearly and many others he considered his children.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Donald Burgan, and many grandparents, aunts and uncles.
He is survived in death by his mother, Shirley Burgan of Kellyville, sister Lisa Leathers and husband Gregg of Kellyville, sister Teresa Bell and husband Danny of Idabel, niece Brittany Marker and husband Seth of Depew, niece Brook Collins and husband Matt of Kellyville, niece Breanna Leathers of Kellyville, niece Jada Bell of Idabel, great nephew Jeffrey Marker of Depew, great niece Kali Collins of Kellyville, and great nephew Kyler Collins of Kellyville.
