Obituary

Donna Gail Heim of Sapulpa Oklahoma (as the Salvation Army would express it) was promoted to glory on June 9th to be greeted by family and friends that traveled before her in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Donna was born January 23, 1938, in Tulsa Oklahoma to Ruth Shaw and Paul W. Moss. She moved to El Paso Texas at a young age and after graduating from Austin High School continued her academic pursuit with a Bachelor of Arts from Park College then completed her Master of Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. She also attended seminary for two years completing her ordination.

Donna lived and worked in various parts of the country as well as spending one year as a lay missionary in Mexico City for the Salvation Army. Before beginning a teaching career later in life, Donna worked as director for a non-profit agency which included fund raising and public relations. She worked as an accountant for several businesses, owned her own accounting service and was an owner/operator for a new and used furniture store. As an educator, Donna was a bilingual teacher, taught small business management, and instructed English as a Second Language at El Paso Community College.

Donna was married to Joe Heim and through that union she was blessed with her beloved son Joseph P. Heim.

After retiring, Donna returned to Oklahoma in 2012 where she, faithfully worshipped at Free Will Baptist Church, volunteered teaching English as a Second Language, painting, and keeping tabs on her cherished racehorse Zenyatta.

Donna Heim had a caring and compassionate heart and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph P. Heim, her brother Billie Moss and sisters Beverly Landry and Mary Smith.

Nephews: Gil Landry (Laura), David Landry, Mike Moss (Tilly), Mark Moss (Len)
