Obituary

Donna Ann Kinsey was born on April 30, 1961, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Don and Ann Kinsey.  Donna was able to enjoy being an only child for 8 ½ years.  She started praying for a baby brother or sister.  God answered her prayer in December 1969 when Don and Ann received a phone call that there was a baby boy who needed a family.  She soon learned to be careful what you pray for when she also got a baby sister nine months later.  She loved to tell us, after we messed with her stuff,  " I prayed for ONE not TWO!"  Donna graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1979, Connors State in 1981, and Oklahoma State University in 1983 with a Bachelor's in Business Administration.  After college she worked in the Accounting Departments for Affiliated Foods, Nordam, MR Tudor, the City of Jenks, and finally, Mill Creek Lumber.

Donna was a lifelong member of Blue Bell Free Will Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years, children's church, VBS, and was very active in the Women's Auxiliary, even serving at the state level.  One of the hardest things for her after getting cancer was not being able to teach her "kids".

Donna became an Aunt in 1995.  She loved her nieces and nephews almost as much as she did Jesus.  They could do no wrong in her eyes.  She attended as many of their functions as she was able.  They were a great source of pride & joy for her.

In September 2020, Donna was diagnosed with Metastatic Brain Cancer.  She had emergency brain surgery the next day.  A few weeks later, they discovered cancer in her lungs and abdomen.  After nearly a year of chemo and radiation, we thought she may be getting better, only to find out it had spread.  She never complained.  We were amazed at her ability to stay positive, holding to her faith that God would carry her through.  On Tuesday, January 25, Donna stepped through heaven's gates straight into the arms of Jesus.  She was preceded in death by her father, Don Kinsey; Grandparents Homer and Mattie Davidson and Walter and Gladys Kinsey.  She is survived by her mother, Ann Kinsey, with whom she has lived since her cancer diagnosis; her brother, Darren Kinsey and wife Leah of Tulsa; sister Julie Clayton and husband Rick of Kellyville; nieces Kaley Clayton of Sapulpa, Karenna Kinsey of Sapulpa, and Camille Kinsey of Tulsa; nephews Garrett Clayton of Stillwater and Tanner Clayton and wife Alyssa of Stillwater; a host of extended family.
