IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donna Kathleen
Mills
September 9, 1945 – March 16, 2020
Heaven received its newest and most vibrant angel on March 16, 2020 with the passing of Donna K. Mills. Donna loved life and people and never met a stranger. She was always ready to lend a hand or a shoulder to anyone in need. Her Louisiana roots got her feet tapping anytime she heard zydeco music loved all animals (except chickens) from a young age and her favorite past-time was pulling any stray weed she passed. She loved to laugh and was always quick with a snappy come-back followed by a sly grin and a sparkle in her eye. She taught everyone around her what love is really all about and shared her love fiercely and fully to family, friends and anyone who needed a hand. She will be dearly missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.
Donna was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Reno, Nevada. She was an active member of the Civil Air Patrol in high school and upon graduation began working in the banking industry where she would stay for the rest of her career. She moved to Oklahoma in 1970 and called Sapulpa her home since 1972 working at American National Bank until her retirement in 2001. She was an emphatic cheerleader during her sons' activities ready with her cow bell and signature "whoo woo woowoo" to let them know she always believed in them no matter whether at the ball field or the theater. She met the love of her life, Andy, in 1986 and they spent the last 34 years sharing all that love and adventure life has to offer.
Donna is survived by her loving and devoted husband Andy Podnieks and her sons Don (Broken Arrow) and DuWayne(Oklahoma City) along with their wives Karina and Paula; herbrother Larry Fisher and sisters Mary Herry and FrancesMorrison; her grandchildren Jacob Mills, Kristen Blake and Lauren Carpio; also by her great-grandsons Roman and Noah Carpio and her beloved fur babies Cisco , Sushi and Daisy.
