Obituary

Edna Joyce Morris affectionately known as "Jo", age 81, of Broken Arrow, OK, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025. Born on December 24, 1943, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Lewis "Red" Ashton and Mary Louise Armistead. She lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to her family and community.

She was first married to Ralph Shields, with whom she had two children, Troy Shields and Ronda "Trey" Shields. Later, she married Jack Morris and welcomed a third child, Jack Morris Jr. Her children, and the love she poured into them, were the heart of her world.

Known for her gentle spirit and giving nature, she would go out of her way to help others, never asking for anything in return. She devoted countless hours volunteering with Volunteers of America, where she used her gift of crochet to create afghans, hats, scarves, shawls, and other handmade items to comfort those in need.

She was a dedicated member and treasurer of the Home Extension Club, and a faithful member of Blue Bell Baptist Church, where she found community and purpose.

In her quiet moments, she found joy in quilting, reading, word search puzzles, and trying new recipes. Her creativity and warmth were woven into everything she did.

She is survived by her three children—Troy Shields, Ronda "Trey" Shields, and Jack "JR" Morris Jr.—and her grandchildren, Shawna Hogan, Shey Fisher, and Moire Fisher, all of whom brought her great joy. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Fran Maestas, Judy Hutchins, and Donna Shimp, along with countless nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and quiet grace. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

A memorial service will be held at Traditions Funeral Home on April 8th, 2025,at 10:00am, followed by a reception a t Bluebell Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
