Edward Thecoplis Lee was born on March 15, 1942, to William Lee and Jessie Mae Lee Johnson) in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He passed away at home located in Kellyville, Oklahoma on August 22, 2026.

Ed moved to Sapulpa from Wetumka in the early 1950's and attended Booker T. Washington school in Sapulpa until he graduated in 1960, the last year before Sapulpa schools were integrated. He enlisted in the U.S. Army right after graduation. He served in Korea and Ft. Sill in Lawton after he returned from overseas. Ed later worked for Sun Oil Company for several years and then did various mechanical work until his passing.

Ed was preceded in his passing by his parents, three sisters, Shirley Lee Jones) and Virginia Kay Lee (Singleton) of Lawton and Gwenda Bruner of Sapulpa; and, six brothers, William Melvin Lee of Tifton, William Lee Jr., of Lawton, Michael Edward Smith of Wetumka, Runda Smith, Clifton Lee Vann and Michael Dewayne Lee (Vann) of Sapulpa.

Ed leaves to mourn his passing two daughters Kandra Lee and Elonda Lee; three sisters, Willie Mae Lee (McCormack, Phil), Lenora Lee (Colbert, Charles) and Carolyn Lee (Necheume, Donnie); and two brothers, Billy Lee (Carolyn) and Donald Lee (Vann). He also leaves four grandchildren; D'angelo Lee, Ebony Lee, Dominique Lee and Ksena Harris, and three great-grandchildren; Jayden Lee, Jordan Lee and D'angelo Lee and a host of friends and acquaintances.

Ed was the first born sibling. A big brother who loved and cared for his sisters, brothers and children. He was interested in life and the world around him.

He loved to hunt and fish and truly enjoyed the outdoors. He was a great mechanic and liked to work on cars and other vehicles.

Ed was also known as "T" Lee by his friends. He would give the shirt off his back to complete strangers and was always there for his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and still deeply loved by his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Thursday, September 3rd at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. 

Services will be 11:00 am on Friday, September 4th at Calvary Baptist Church, 412 N 7th St, in Sapulpa. Burial will be at North Heights cemetery following the service.
