Ed Wertman 82, of Jenks, Ok. Changed his address to heaven on April 7, 2026 at St. John’s Hospital Tulsa, surrounded by those he loved.

Ed was born November 24, 1943 in Muncy, Pennsylvania. he graduated from Muncy High School and received his degree in engineering from Penn State University. He was employed by Merck & Company for 30 years, serving the last 12 as plant manager of Kelco Okmulgee.

Ed married his wife Virginia in 1993. They celebrated 33 years of marriage on April 9. He was a member of Praise Center Ministries of Sapulpa for 26 years where he was instrumental in the construction of the youth building and main sanctuary balcony. He served as a royal Rangers teacher for 10 years, managed the car show for many years, as well as being involved in numerous other church activities.

In his spare time Ed had a love for cars. They were his passion. He loved participating in vintage car events all over the US.

Ed was a kind man of many talents and dry wit, but mostly he loved his Lord, his family and his church. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia, Children Douglas Wertman and wife, Kristy, Debbie Holdeman and husband, Brian, Jeffrey Wertman, Crystal Aikins, and husband Brian and Mike Wegley and wife Barbara; Grandchildren, Brenna, Braylen, Brian, Brandon, Samantha, and Kadin; Great granddaughter Emberly and many, many other family and friends.

Ed was proceeded in death by his parents, Ed and Lola Wertman of Pennsylvania and his brother Stephen Wertman of Canada.

Memorial services will be held Saturday May 9th at Praise Center Ministries in the main sanctuary, @ 1:30pm at 5672 E. Highway 117 Sapulpa, Ok. 74066
