Obituary

Ella Jo Yocham
April 7, 1939 – September 24, 2025

Ella Jo Yocham, 86, of Kellyville, Oklahoma, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on September 24, 2025. Born Ella Jo Johnson on April 7, 1939, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Ella Jo lived a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering faith.

Known for her sharp wit and big sense of humor, Ella Jo could light up any room with her smile and quick one-liners. She was funny, smart, and deeply devoted to God and Jesus—her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A longtime member of Sunrise Baptist Church in Kellyville, she found joy and strength in her church community and cherished her time spent in worship and fellowship.

She married Darrell Yocham on August 11, 1959, shortly after graduating from Sapulpa High School. She often spoke of him as her sweetheart and shared how deeply she missed him. He was the love of her life and remained close to her heart long after his passing.

Ella Jo was beyond loved by her family, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Her legacy is one of faith, laughter, and unconditional love. She proudly listed her occupation as "making her family happy," a role she embraced with joy and devotion, and succeeded more than she will ever know. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will fondly remember the countless board games, the domino matches (that she always seemed to win), and baking cookies and banana nut bread with her in the kitchen—moments filled with warmth and affection. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now rejoicing in heaven, reunited with loved ones and embraced by eternal peace.

She is survived by her daughter Nita Wilmott and husband Roger; her son Dwayne Yocham; her grandchildren Joshua Gregory and wife Kristen (and their son Braxton), Erica Hendricks and husband Dylan (and their children Sarah and Evan), and Tres Dunbar. She also leaves behind her sister, Peggy Magee, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and who brought her endless joy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Yocham, and mother, Josephine McCann.
