Erlene Carson
Ph.D.
August 1, 1940 – January 18, 2026
Erlene Carson, Ph.D., 85, of Sapulpa, went to be with the Lord at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Erlene was born on August 1, 1940, in Sapulpa to Leo and Grace Smith. She married the love of her life, Eddie Carson, in 1956 at the age of 16. Together, they were blessed with two sons, Curt and Craig.
She graduated from Sapulpa High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University. Erlene later obtained her master's degree from Oral Roberts University and went on to earn her doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
Erlene became a counselor and developed a deep love for helping others. She later authored Know God Well Enough to Trust Him, a book she was especially proud of. She was a volunteer at her church and an active member of Toastmasters and loved traveling. Erlene had a caring and compassionate heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Erlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Grace Smith; her sister, Charlotte Gad; her brother, Dale Smith and grandson Tyler Carson.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Carson; her sons, Curt Carson and Craig Carson and his wife, Kathi; her sisters, Evelyn Acheson and Nelda Milburn; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S Main, Kellyville. A Celebration of Life will be 10:00am, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Sapulpa Church of the Nazarene 302 S Elm in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
