Gabriel (Stan)
Balch
April 15, 2026
Stan Balch, 81, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on June 26, 1944, in Batesville, Arkansas, to James and Minnie (Shoemaker) Balch. He was a year old when he met his father for the first time following his service in World War II. He was grateful to be raised in a loving home in an idyllic, close-knit town, where his early years were shaped by simple joys—sports, horses, and the steady presence of family.
During his father’s time pursuing a doctorate at the University of Arkansas, Stan discovered a love for tennis, a passion that would remain with him throughout his life. Stan graduated from Arkansas College (now Lyon College), where his father was a professor and his mother owned a popular student cafe.
Stan eventually settled in Dallas, Texas, where he built a successful career in sales. Beginning in retail men’s clothing, he worked his way up to become a respected Fleet Sales Director. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan, he cherished his friendships with some of "America's Team".
Above all, Stan valued his family and loved to spend time with them- listening to music, dancing and joking around until the end.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Gwen Gloor; his daughters, Caron Edwards of Emory, TX, Becky Hair (Dan) of Commerce, Tx, Lindsey Balch of Fort Worth, Tx, Alexis Brock (James) of Dallas, Tx, Tori Winnett of Bixby, Ok, and Jordan Beard (Jordan) also of Bixby, Ok. He is also survived by his brother, Jim of Franklin, Tn, his cousin, and many nieces, nephews, and grand dogs and cats. He leaves behind numerous beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers C.R. and Jerry, and sons-in-law Rusty Edwards and Doug Winnett
In his later years, Stan found happiness in life’s quieter moments—traveling, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and sharing in fellowship with his church community, especially the 55+ group at South Heights Assembly of God.
A celebration of his life will be held at Spring Park Clubhouse in Garland, Texas, on May 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Service, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK. 74039, 918-247-7373
