Campbell
April 8, 1949 – April 26, 2026
Monnie Gene Campbell entered into his heavenly home on April 26, 2026, at his home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma surrounded by family. Gene was born April 8, 1949, in Morris, Oklahoma.
Gene graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1967. After graduation Gene worked in the oil field for his dad at H&L Lease Service. On February 17, 1969, Gene was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country for two years, obtaining several medals, including the Bronze Star with V Device for his heroic acts, saving his platoon while on patrol in Vietnam. After his army service, he worked for Gulf Oil Company as a lease operator. He worked offshore for a while and later owned his own company as a contract lease operator.
In 1974 Gene met Linda Morgan and they fell in love and were married May 24, 1974. Gene and Linda were blessed with two beautiful daughters Jennifer, born in 1978 and Leslie, born in 1981. He enjoyed following his children and their many school activities. His family was his life.
He enjoyed singing, and traveled with the Shiloh’s Quartet. Later, he went out on his own and ministered in several churches. For many years, he was the church drummer and even played for the Tulsan’s. Gene attended June Rose Assembly of God for many years before attending Assurance Church and most recently the Assembly in Broken Arrow. Gene enjoyed riding motorcycles, tinkering on cars and loved spending time with family and friends. Buying and selling many vehicles over the course of many years. However, he had a special place in his heart for the ‘70 Chevelle. Gene was a giving person with a big heart.
He was proceeded in death by his precious daughter, Jennifer Campbell Lunow, his grandson, Baby B Adams, father Hearld Campbell, father and mother-in-law, Perry A and Charlene Morgan, brother David, sister, Donna Ann, grandparents Monnie and Ruby Campbell, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
