A man that loved the Lord. A proud member of the Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa. George William Wahl, 72, of Sapulpa went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
George was born on August 30, 1951 in Tulsa to George Willis and Wanda Lou Wahl. He was employed by Fleming Building Company as a heavy equipment operator and retired after 38 years.
George met and later married the love of his life Betty Sharlene Carlton on April 1, 1982. They happily raised 4 children and that was considered, one of their greatest accomplishments, they recently celebrated 42 years of marriage. George and Betty equally shared a love for one another that will continue to last into eternity.
George took a lot of pride in operating his backhoe and other heavy equipment. He also loved being outdoors, riding his motorcycle, and enjoyed their family vacations. He cherished and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Willis Wahl and Wanda Lou Delcour; brothers, Baby boy Wahl and Danny Glen Wahl and grandparents Bill and Lillian Hatfield, and Henry George and Minnie Estelle Wahl.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty; daughters Aimee Wahl, Tonya Wahl, and Becky Jackson and husband Jayson; son Donny Teague and wife Jennifer; grandchildren Abbie and Raymond Riley, Ashley and Colton Brownfield, Ryley Anson, Hannah and Tyler Fife, Lane, Caleb, Emily, Gabe, Tyler, Trasen, and Braden Teague, Hunter Shoaf, Matthew and McKinley Smith, and Tanner Jackson; great grandchildren Madison, Paris, Piper, and Zander Riley, Weston, Walker, and Wrenley Brownfield, Dawson Pressler, Chandler Womble, Dexter and Silias Fife, Rhys Teague, and McCoy Smith; great great grandchild Scout Moseby; brothers John and Gladys Wahl, Jerry and Jim Wahl, and Randy and Sue Wahl.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Monday, July 1, 2024, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be 2pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Sapulpa Church of the Nazarene with burial to follow at Sunrise Cemetery in Kellyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
