Obituary

James A. Williams (Jim) was born September 5, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jimmy and Christine Williams. Jim passed peacefully at home on December 12, 2020. Jim graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1967. He joined the Army in 1969 and served 2 years. He was

always so proud to be an Army Veteran. Jim met and married Rhonda Coonce and they just observed their 46th anniversary on November 29, 2020. They were blessed with one daughter, Christie and two grandchildren, Tyler and Jordyn. As Jim's health deteriorated Tyler became his chauffer and caretaker.

Jim played softball and was known on the ball field as "Big Jim".  When Big Jim would hit a home run the ball would just float over the outer fence like a feather. He enjoyed checking the value of old coins and other items on his computer. The past year he spent a lot of time on his I Phone browsing all the information available to him. Jim loved to eat and was always the first seated at the head of the table for their large family gatherings.

Jim had a variety of jobs, including truck driver and warehouseman before beginning employment with Webco Industries where he continued to work until his retirement. After retirement one of his favorite activities was mowing grass on his riding mower. On Fridays he would mow his mother-in law, Sue's lawn and when he was finished, mowing they would sit on her front porch with a cold drink and just visit about family and the problems of the world. He had extraordinarily strong political views so that subject was usually avoided.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Christine Williams and father-in-law Ronald Coonce. Jim is survived by his wife, Rhonda of the home, daughter Christie Williams (James Kennedy), grandson Tyler Wright, granddaughter JortJyn Cunningham all of Sapulpa.

Brother, David Williams, Mother-in-law,Sue Coonce, Brother-in-laws, Ron Coonce (Debbie), Chuck Coonce (Eileen) and nieces and nephews, Carrie Williams, Angie Wilson (Alfred), Brian Coonce (Mindy), Cody Coonce (Nikki), Kelli Coonce (Dale) and great-nieces, Kylin, Maeryn, Madison and Olivia Coonce.
