With great sadness, the family of James Daniel Thompson announces his death on January 31, 2019, after his battle with cancer.

Daniel was born in Tulsa, OK, to Wilma (Mount) Laidley and Brooks Thompson. He grew up in Sapulpa, where he graduated high school. Dan held many interests and had several circles of friends throughout his life. He enjoyed woodworking, guitars and music, motorcycles, boats and lake time, tinkering on vehicles, and various other projects. He could often be found watching old westerns in his spare time.

Daniel was preceded in death by his stepfather, Gail Laidley. He is survived by his children, Amanda Munson (Curtis) and Courtney Blacksten (Brandon); mother, Wilma Laidley; father, Brooks Thompson (Sonny); sisters, Linda Wright and Deena Whitfield; brothers, Brett Thompson and Tommy Laidley; and grandchildren, Elsie Blacksten and Emilia Munson. He will be greatly missed by these and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 5 at Traditions Funeral Home in Kellyville, OK. A viewing will be Monday, February 4 from 5-7:00 pm.
