Obituary

James Rodney "Rod" Toliver, of Edmond, went to be with the Lord on December 10, 2025. He was born November 15, 1962 to James E. and Shirley J. (Stephens) Toliver. He graduated from Sapulpa High School Class of 1981 and was Vice President of the FFA chapter.

Rod was a miracle. A car accident nearly took his life in 1988. However, through his mother's constant prayer and the professionals at Hillcrest Burn Center, he recovered and led a life full of love. Rod was a trim carpenter for most of his life and told everyone who would listen that no one could hang a door faster than him even after his accident. He also proudly carried on his father's pycnometer calibration business, Toliver Measurement Services, for 15 years.

Rod married Peggy Lynn Love in 1989. They had one daughter together in 1991, Madison Ann, who had a brief life filled with love. Rod married Taunia Cromer in 1993. They had one son together in 1994, Trace Jamison. Rod then married the love of his life, Trisha Tucker on New Years Day 2000. While their time together was brief, his love for Trisha was unending.

Rod won a National Flag Football League national championship in 1987. He loved fishing with his son, raising livestock, playing softball, golfing, and Oklahoma Sooners football.

Rod was compassionate and always willing to use his talents to help others. He was a miracle and every day with him was a gift. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his son Trace Toliver and wife Kasey of Oklahoma City; brother, Steve Toliver and wife Debi of Sapulpa; aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Shirley Toliver; wife, Trisha Toliver; and daughter, Madison Toliver.

There will be a memorial service on Thursday, December 18, at 2 pm in the Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville, OK.

Services are under the direction of Traditions Funeral & Cremation Services, 35 S Main, Kellyville, OK 74039, 918-247-7373.
