Jerome Charles "J.C." Voss, a longtime resident of Sapulpa, OK, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by his side on September 4, 2022 at the age of 86 years. Visitation is 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday September 8, 2022 at Traditions Funeral Chapel, Kellyville. Funeral services will be 1:30 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, 7100 E. Hwy 117, Sapulpa followed by burial at Green Hills Cemetery in Sapulpa.
J.C. was born on May 15, 1936 in Selman, OK to William "Buck" and Allene (Durham) Voss and he was the youngest of their five children. After attending classes through the 10 th grade in Harper County, OK, J.C. graduated in 1954 from Anderson High School in Anderson, MO. Following high school, J.C. moved to Wichita, KS where he began work in the aircraft industry with Boeing and later worked in the oil marketing industry with Skelly Oil. J.C. married Hazel Lorraine Smith in 1958 and to this union three children were born, Garland Jerome "Jerry", Glenna Jill, and Timothy James.
J.C. transferred to Tulsa, OK in 1973 where he met Judy Ann Lucas. They were married in 1974 and remained united together in marriage until his passing, where Judy was by his side. J.C. was a devoted husband, dad, son, brother, and papa. He was strong in his Christian faith, was a member of Faith Baptist Church and served with the Gideon Foundation. He enjoyed playing card games, especially Rook and Pitch, with loved ones throughout his life. J.C. and his son Jerry owned and operated Oklahoma Gauge and Instrument Repair Company for the past 35 years.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mildred Jo Russell, brother Bill Voss, and sister Kathryn Louise Reed. He is survived by his wife Judy Voss of Sapulpa, sister Mary Lee Lunsford of Guymon, children Jerry (Renee) Voss of Kellyville, Jill (Doug) Kimple of Wichita, KS, Tim (Wanda) Voss of Edmond, OK, Don (Leticia) Lucas of Little Elm, TX, Shelly (Bruce) Stepp of Bixby, OK, and Tim (Andrea) Lucas of Bixby, grandchildren Jacob (Carrie) Voss, Jared (Eden) Voss, Molli (Kyle) Slade, Cole (Jessica) Kimple, Sawyer (Barbie) Voss, Emily (Blake) John, Ella (Chase) Moore, Jonathon Lucas, Cassie Summerlin, Ashley Nerwich, Rachel Nichols; Sarah, Lauren, Elizabeth and Isaac Lucas, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma. Services will be 1:30 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022, at Faith Baptist Church, 7100 E. Highway 117, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, Kellyville, 918-247-7373.
