August 20, 1940 – January 29, 2025
Jeanne Marilyn Hix, 84, went to be with our Lord January 29, 2025, from the Clare House in Tulsa, Oklahoma after an extended illness. Jeanne was born at the City Hospital in Sapulpa Oklahoma August 20, 1940, to Arthur Delynn and Velma Ruth Hix.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bob Hix, Harold Hix and wife Mary Jo, Richard Hix, and brother-in-law Robert K Crawford, and son Mark Alan James.
Jeanne is survived by her son Robert Alan Burcher and wife Rebecca, granddaughter Mikale Burcher, grandson Robert Vincent Burcher (Elizabeth), sisters Mary Ann Land (Paul) and Linda J. Wright. Jeanne also left behind several nieces and nephews and extended family members. She had a host of close friends in Tulsa, Sapulpa, Kiefer, and New York City and will be greatly missed by all.
Jeanne was raised in Kiefer, Oklahoma and attended grammar school there before moving to Tulsa with her family. Jeanne graduated from Edison High School in Tulsa 1958. After graduation Jeanne moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she attended the National School of Aeronautics in their airline stewardess school. Jeanne also attended the Baroch College of the City University of New York taking management courses and lived in New York City for 41 years. Jeanne was employed by the publishing firm Harcourt Brace as an administrative assistant and for Players Managing and hosting large events until her retirement when she returned to the Sapulpa and Tulsa area.
Jeanne attended Tulsa Bible Church for the past ten years and cherished her friends there and at the Versaille Apartments where she resided.
Graveside services are scheduled for March 15, 2025, at South Heights Cemetery in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will follow at First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Tulsa Bible Church Homebound Program. In the recent past Jeanne was mostly homebound and several ladies from the Tulsa Bible Church would help her out in obtaining groceries and rides to church and appointments in addition to lots of prayers. Jeanne's family is so appreciative of this, and the wonderful treatment Jeanne received at the Clare House and with Suncrest Hospice.
