Obituary

There are few people in this world who can match the radiance of the aptly named Jeannie Jewel Faye (Riley) McDoulett. She entered this world during a horrible snowstorm on January 30...or 31, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK, and she passed away in an accident on Oct. 5, 2025.

Jeannie, affectionately known as Shorty, was a friend to all and never met a stranger. She had a gift of making everyone around her feel special and seen. Once she decided you were in her circle, you became family, even though her own biological family was already quite extensive.

Jeannie's parents were Don Riley and Virginia (Binny Grider) Miller, along with Harold Bower. Her siblings are Donna Brasier, Mitzi Mclain, Candy Myers, Kathleen Riley, Laurie Riley, and Timothy Riley. She also has a host of important nieces, nephews, and cousins. However, her family increased significantly when she met the love of her life, Joe McDoulett.

Jeannie and Joe are the perfect example of what true love looks like, and their love story is one for the books. That story began in high school when she mistook him for someone she knew and told him to give her his sweater. From there, they were inseparable. The two married on July 14, 1967, and were happily married for 58 years.

Together, they raised their 3 children: Jeannie (JeeJee) Bentley, Joe (Joey) McDoulett, and James McDoulett. Jeannie worked within their home to ensure it was filled with love, happiness, and fun. There was absolutely nothing she would not do for her children. They were the light of her life, until her true favorite people came into the world, her grandchildren.

She was blessed with 8 wonderful grandchildren: Chad Bentley, Von Hocker, Chance Bentley, Saebyl McDoulett, Jayd Bentley, You Sun Lee, Rowyn McDoulett, and Elora McDoulett. Jeannie was an active participant in each of their lives: calling to check in and get updates, facetiming babies, attending sporting events and activities, making costumes, playing games, and buying gifts. They knew Grandma would always be there for them.

She was also the proud great-grandmother of 10 great-grandchildren: Conway Bentley, Ripp Bentley, Blayne Bentley, Zai Hocker, Tru Hocker, Arc Hocker, Joy Hocker, Augustine Bentley, Maverick Bentley, and Sloane Bentley. She loved them all tremendously and loved spending time with them in any form she could.

Everyone will remember Jeannie for her spunky sense of humor, her ability to bring comfort, her love of games and a good story, and the way she drew people to her like a moth to a flame. She will be forever missed by her family (which was too vast to list in its entirety) and friends.

Even though we wished she could have stayed with us longer, we know she is in good company. She entered those pearly gates and was met by a host of people who loved and missed her, such as her son-in-law, Mike Bentley; her parents, Virginia, Don, and Harold; her grandparents, Wilson and Birdie Grider; special friends; and her in-laws, Warren and Jane
McDoulett.
