IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeffrey Eugene
Sparks
September 15, 1961 – October 27, 2024
Jeffrey "Jeff" Eugene Sparks, 63, changed his address to his heavenly home on Sunday, October 27th, 2024. He was born September 15th, 1961, in Cushing, Ok to Everett Lester and Donita Ora Sparks. Jeff graduated from Cleaveland High School in 1979. After graduation he started his own company Sparks Dozer. In October of 1987 he began a business venture with his parents, Bargain Hunters. In 1987 Jeff met the love of his life, Kay Basinger, at Bargain Hunters. They were married three months later on July 22, 1988. Jeff and Kay were married for 36 years. Together they raised two sons, Nick and Jason Sparks, and their grandson, Aidan Sparks. Through the years Jeff did many things: He worked at Creek County Rural Water District 2, land development with his Father-in-Law, Bob Basinger, and McGowan Construction. He then joined his wife Kay in 2002 at American Abstract. Together they owned American Abstract for 33 years. Jeff was mentoring his son, Jason Sparks, and grandson, Aidan Sparks, with their recent business venture, bugRight.
Jeff was active in his community and in civic affairs. He was elected for Creek County Treasurer in 2008 and held office for four years. Jeff also loved being involved in his children's activities: Sapulpa High School Band Boosters Club, Victory Christan School Band Booster Club, and Sapulpa High School Bowling Team. Jeff's favorite thing to do was serving the Lord and the church. He was head of church security and was the #1 door greeter. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell and always used his favorite phrase "Glad you got to see me!" Serving the Lord and telling others about Jesus was his number one priority.
Jeff enjoyed grilling and cooking for family and friends. You would often find him posting his favorite dishes he made on social media. Jeff loved spending time with his family, OU football, relaxing at his country home, taking care of his chickens, serving others and was a very proud member of Praise Center Ministries. Jeff would volunteer at church events and help any way that he could. Just a week ago he completed his last service to the church during the Praise Center Opry- Branson Style Dinner Show.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Donita Sparks, and his son Nick Sparks. He is survived by his wife Debra "Kay" Sparks of Kellyville, OK; son Jason Sparks and wife Kelsey of Kellyville, Ok; grandchildren Aidan and Jackson Sparks of Kellyville, Ok.
