Jimmy Dale "Pete" Loyd a resident of Okmulgee, passed away January 4, 2024, in Hays, Kansas at the age of 58. He was born April 18, 1965, in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Walter Lee Loyd and Iva Lucille (Vanmeter) Loyd. Being born on Easter, Jimmy was quickly nicknamed "Pete" for "Peter Cottontail" by his dad.

Jimmy was a professional Truck Driver and traveled all over the United States during his career. He was a devoted father, son, grandpa, and brother. His family was the light of his life, and he loved spending time with them at gatherings and family cookouts. He knew many people and touched a great many lives. He will be greatly missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his father Walter Lee Loyd; mother Iva Lucille Loyd; two brothers Carl Loyd and Walter Loyd and two sisters Bessie Humphreys and Shirley Kight.

He is survived by his daughter Larasha Brooks and husband Jeffrey of Henryetta; sons Dallas Loyd of Okmulgee and Joshua Deckard (Loyd) and wife Frankie of Henryetta; grandchildren Damon and Molly, Kayson and Jesse Elvis; sisters Wilma Allen of Kellyville and Lillie Boeckman of Inola as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life for "Pete" will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1pm at Schulter Baptist Church in Schulter, Oklahoma. Flowers can be sent to Schulter Baptist Church on January 26, 2024, starting at 9am. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S.
