Joe Magee, 87, of Sapulpa, passed from this life on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was born in Sapulpa on October 23, 1932 to Omer and Olia (Wilson) Magee. He worked for Liberty Glass until his retirement. He attended Sapulpa Schools and following school he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He met the love of his life, Peggy Johnson and they were married April 24, 1958. They recently celebrated 62 years of marriage. Joe loved to play the guitar and would get together with his friends and family to play. He also loved playing golf and riding motorcycles. He was a member of Pickett Prairie Baptist Church. He loved to work in the yard and kept it meticulously manicured. He also enjoyed gardening. His girls were his pride and joy. He always enjoyed spending time with them, even when he was in Arbor Village and the whole place was under quarantine due to the Corona Virus, he would set at the window looking out and the nurses would ask him what he was looking at, he would say, I'm watching for my girls. Joe was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Joe is survived by his loving wife Peggy of Sapulpa; daughters Sandra and Jack Kroll of Emory, Texas, Marlene and Ronnie Hardison of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Kathy Tribble of Ellisville, Missouri; grandchildren David, Jennifer, Nick, Michael, and Emily; great-grandchildren Remy, Derek, Alivia, Rachel, Wyatt, Stormy and Sephera; sister Edith Picket of Sapulpa and a host of other relatives.
He his preceded in death by his parents Omer and Olia Magee; granddaughter Chasity; sisters Jewel, Betty, Alice, Eva and Star and brother Jack.
There will be a family visitation Wednesday July 29, 2020 between 6:00-8:00pm at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville.
Funeral services will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. also at Traditions Funeral Chapel. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Randy Parker. Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Kroll, Nick Kroll, David Newton, Josh Gregory, Michael Tribble and Dale Thompson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be Jackie Thompson.
