Obituary

Joseph F. Rangel was born June 3, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to mother Mary Sarniento Rangel and father Joe Rangel.

Joe was a welder by trade and was married to his sweetheart Virginia for 55 years. Together they raised four children Marie, Jeremy, Anna and Samantha all of Sapulpa.

It is impossible to sum up the life of Joe in a few simple paragraphs. He was beloved and a friend to many. There are so many wonderful things that can be said about him and never without a good or funny story. Joe constantly encouraged others with his humor and kind spirit. He was genuine in his deeds and his words. He walked in this life with a deep and enduring faith in the Lord, a faith that saved him and allowed him to overcome even the most impossible circumstances.

Joe's unwavering faith serves as a testimony to his family and friends. He never gave in or gave up, while not a man of great financial means, he never hesitated to look out for the needs of others and consistently showed great generosity.

Joe loved each person in his life uniquely and deeply. He showed a great devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

It would take a book of pages to list the names of friends and acquaintances that Joe accrued in his lifetime, with each person having their own place in his heart.

As the sun was shining on Wednesday morning April 24, 2024, right around 9:30 Joe slipped out of the weight of his pain and sickness into the arms of his Saviour. He had prayed for that moment many times the past few weeks and his home was prepared at last and on his face the look of peace, contentment and joy.

Joe leaves a legacy of faith and love to his family, a book of a life well lived and an encouragement for others to follow.

Family members remembering him now are his wife of 55 years Virginia; son Jeremy Rangel; daughters Marie Plunk (Andy), Anna Clough (Josh) and Samantha Branscum (Tony); daughters of the heart Brianna Bevenue and Mercy Bevenue; grandchildren Danielle Self (Phillip), Megan Plunk, Philip Plunk, Haley Jo Anderson (Kenny), Jordan Hancock (Ricky), Vera Clough, Juniper Clough, Graham Clough, Vine Clough, Maybelle Clough, Cyrus Clough, Evan Faulk, Mahalia Faulk, Claire Faulk, Mike Branscum, Nick Branscum and Samantha Branscum; great-grandchildren Rowan Anderson, Renly Anderson and Teddy Self and a host of well-loved nieces, nephews and friends.

Once asked which was his favorite, he replied they are all my favorite and he meant that he dearly loved us all.

Your time of rest has come, and we all hold the memories of you in our hearts until we meet again in Heaven. Know you will be missed, and we say as you once did on special days, "let's celebrate". Think of us as you are viewing all the purty sights of Heaven and know we love you.

You keep track of all my sorrows, you have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book - Psalm 56:8. Your tears have been poured from that jar now and it is time for you to rest.
