~~Service date has changed please see below~~
Big John Lang entered the gates of heaven on February 7, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. He was born December 25, 1963, to John Lang Sr. and Almeta Knapp in Tulsa Oklahoma.
John is preceded in death by his mother and father John Lang Sr. and Almeta Knapp, his grandson Bohdi Lang and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his son John Lang III his daughter Kyrsten Bolton and husband Josh Bolton, grandchildren Kinlee, Kaydin and Kayson Bolton, Chloe Lang and Cody Keeling. His Brothers David Lang and Guy Knapp and Sister Melissa Glover many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
John grew up in west Tulsa and Sapulpa area. John attended Webster Tulsa Schools and Sapulpa Public School. He spent a lot of time running dogs, hunting and fishing in the Illinois River. In his youth you would find John ridding dirt bikes in west Tulsa, rock climbing and four wheeling.
John spent a lot of time on the ball fields with his children. He was the loudest in the stand and the most opinionated. He was his children's biggest cheerleader. John greatly adored his grandbabies. He cherished and loved our family trips to Blue Hole. His goal was to teach his grandkids life skills and how to have a loving heart with respect. He enjoyed many Saturday morning breakfasts with his family.
He worked at Amaco and that's where his love for driving the highways started. He worked for many trucking companies but proudly started his own truck business in 2018 known as Assured Dump Trucking.
Most thought Big Johns name came from his size, but it really came from his heart. John loved all people and touched many lives. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
