**Due to impending weather, The Celebration of Life for Kathy, has been changed to 10:00 am, Monday, February 2nd**

Our precious Mother, Grandma and Sister, Kathy Russell, was greeted at the pearly gates on January 16, 2026.  Kathy was born on June 17, 1946, in Sapulpa, OK.  She married her high school sweetheart, Jimmie Ray, on August 3, 1962.  From this union they were blessed with three children: Donald, Mike and Karen.

Kathy soon had her hands full with two young boys, only 17 months apart.  Her title of Momma quickly expanded to Head Referee, The Rule-Maker, Doctor for all cuts and scrapes, Cheerleader and as both came to realize later, she was their biggest Supporter.   Close to 5 years later Jimmie and Kathy decided adding one more family member would be a great idea.  A beautiful baby girl named Karen arrived.  Kathy was thrilled to have a baby girl and considered it a blessing to get to participate in all the "girl fun" with Karen all these years.

Having children was a blessing to Kathy but having grandchildren and great children was the ultimate blessing.   She loved each grandchild so much and enjoyed spending time with them or watching their activities.  Grandma would be at the baseball games, basketball games, dance recitals, football games to watch Abby cheer, school programs, graduations, birthday parties, weddings, baby showers and any other type of family celebration.

Kathy worked at Liberty Glass Company in Sapulpa for many years while raising her family with Jimmie.  Once her children were all in school, Kathy decided to advance her career, and she became a United States Postal Employee.  Kathy enjoyed this profession and met a lot of wonderful people being a postal employee.   Kathy was an avid reader and loved to nurture her rose bushes and hydrangea plants.

Kathy is survived by her son Donald and wife Barb and daughter Karen and husband Randy.  11 Grandchildren: Kamda Benton (Josh), Sarah McKibbin (Dustin), James Garrett Russell, Garrett DeMoss, Danelle DeMoss, Walter Smith (Denise), Heather Schwartz (fiancé Shane), Colton Russell, Cody Chavous, Ty Chavous and Abby Chavous (fiancé Conner).

14 Great-Grandchildren:   Adeline Benton, Aurora Benton, Stetson McKibbin, Richard Smith, Sharon Smith, Amy, Lydia, Brooklyn, Chloe, Zoey and Austin Schwartz, Carter Chavous, Charleigh Chavous and baby Presley, due in March.  Sisters Diana Smith and Colleen Houston.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie, son Mike Russell, grandson Michael Russell and brothers Fred Smith, Richard Smith and Robert Smith.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 2nd, at Traditions Funeral Chapel.
