Obituary

Our precious mother LaFaune "Nanny" Krampf passed away peacefully October 31, 2025, after a wonderfully full life, at 94 years old.

She was born Oct 4, 1931, the fifth child of Barney and Pluma Davis, in Ruston Louisiana, and lived her life as a true southern belle.  When she was a child, her mother contracted tuberculosis and was placed in a hospital.  At four years of age, LaFaune went to live with her aunt and uncle, Myrtle and Jewel Doss, who later adopted her.  She grew up traveling around Texas and Louisiana, as Jewel worked building highways.  After the war, they settled in Bossier City, Louisiana, where LaFaune graduated from Bossier High School.  After high school, she attended two years of college at Louisiana Tech in Ruston.  She returned to Shreveport for a year at Centenary College before marrying Kenneth Shouse.

Three children were born and the family settled in OKC in 1960, where the family was raised.  LaFaune had a lifelong draw to volunteerism and was always serving others.  She worked as a Volunteer Coordinator for the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled in OKC. She was active in all of the children's school and extracurricular activities.  They were members of the Village Baptist church in OKC.

LaFaune married Harry Krampf and moved to Sapulpa, OK in 1994, where she continued her career of volunteerism as a "Pink Lady" at St. John Sapulpa hospital, and as Coordinator of RSVP, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Creek County (now called LIFE Senior Services), which she served until her 80th birthday.   In recognition of her work throughout the Sapulpa community, in 2012 she was presented a declaration by the Sapulpa City Council naming Tuesday, July 10, 2012, as LAFAUNE KRAMPF DAY in Sapulpa.

LaFaune loved her family and could often be seen at all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren sporting and school events.  She was lovingly known as Nanny to her grandchildren, and all of her grandchildren's friends.  LaFaune was a lifelong OU fan and would always dress for each game complete with accessories.  She fell ill several weeks ago right after the OU loss to Texas.  LaFaune was also a 12-year breast cancer survivor.

Several years after Harry's death, LaFaune moved to Prairie Rose, and then Town Village Independent Living retirement community in Tulsa.  She thrived in these communities playing bridge and actively engaging in a variety of daily activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her adoptive parents The Doss's, her brothers Hugh Davis, and T.L. Davis, and sisters, Erma Fazio and Maurine Mason, Kenneth Shouse husband of 26 years, and Harry Krampf husband of 30 years. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ken Shouse in 2017 and grandson Charlie Blessington in 2020.

LaFaune is survived by her two daughters, Patty (Phil) Hershberger of Sapulpa and Tena (Lance) Highfill of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren Justin (Amy) Hershberger, Amy (Ryan) Daniels, and Brian (Ashley Sanders) Highfill.  Great grandchildren, Graham and Griffin Hershberger, Gus Blessington, Liam, Harper, Rowan, and Reed Daniels, Camdan and Sloan Highfill, and Mya Humphries.

The family would like to thank Town Village, First Light Home Care, and Millennium Hospice for their amazing and compassionate care of our mother.
