Obituary

Lance Kevin Haynes
11-06-1959 to 1-26-2023

Thirty year local and retired ceramics artist Lance Kevin Haynes (64) Passed away after from cardiac arrest on Thursday January 27th, 2023. He Made his mark as an eagle scout, CA firefighter, Line puller in OK, ProWresting consultant, and later a father and grandfather.

Lance shared the last 25 years of his life with his partner Margena Hicks, together they supplied family famous barbecues and laughter in the small local city of Mounds OK where they maintained their 2.5-acre residence.

He was born in 1959 in Brownville, TX, was raised in Sacramento Ca, before moving to OK in 1989 where he would come to develop his deepest and most treasured roots. He spent 30+ years of his life in the state of Oklahoma, his home thanks to being a self-proclaimed "Simple man" and having a love and affinity for wildlife and rural surroundings. Thanks in part to his childhood eagle scout knowledge. So, it only seems right that he requested to be laid to rest in the state he called home. Nearest to the people he held dear.

Lance has requested a celebration of life instead of a mere funeral service and instructed his family to hold a barbecue in his honor with music and memories to be shared. His celebration will be held in March on his property.
Lance wanted to be remembered as a man who always lent a hand to a person in need, He will be remembered as so much more.

He was the son of Ralph and Mary Haynes. He will be remembered as the younger brother of Debra Haynes, and the older brother of Tracy and Mardette Haynes. The Father of surviving children Austin, Anthony, Hazel, Matthew, Bryan, JoAn, and Ralph.

He is returned to his Father and rejoined with his sons Kevin and Cody.

Lance may have left us in body but we can always find him whenever you see an eagle soaring freely through the skies, you find yourself lost in the melody of classic rock music, or you smell barbecue smoke wafting in the air, as he wanted to be remembered for the things that brought people smiles rather than the loss that caused so many tears as was true to his character and his final wishes.

Take time to grieve as you may but celebrate life more than anything. (Heartfelt wishes and prayers are welcome to the family at this time) God bless.

Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
