Lawrence (Larry) Leonard Prescott 77, of Sapulpa, with family by his side, passed from this life on
February 6, 2021.
Larry was born in 1943 in West Warwick , RI to Harold and Marion Prescott. He was raised in and attended school s across Northern California before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 19 60 . Larry met and later married his wife Maria while stationed in Germany, and recently celebrated 56 years of marriage. He would work numerous jobs after returning to the states that included Survey work for Prescott Engineering, Lumberyard Foreman with Blair Brothers Lumber, and as a reserve police officer for the Placerville Police Department. After relocating to Oklahoma in 1981, he worked as a Creek County Sheriff's Deputy and Kellyville Police Officer before returning to active duty as a Recruiter for the Oklahoma Army National Guard.
Larry served his country in the United States Army and Army National Guard, retiring from the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 1997. Larry was an active member , and former Commander, of the Creek County Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter #9 , He was a member of the American Legion #36 and Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post #1320. He was a Freemason and member of the Scottish Rite 32 degree.
He is survived by his loving wife Maria ; sister Colleen ; half-sister Beverly; sons and their spouse, Carl and Lisa, and Nic k and Jerilyn ; 6 grandchildren , Brandie, Reni, Stephanie, Emily, Jory and Nik ; 1 great- grand child; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Marion; 4 brothers , Harold Jr . , Perry, Bertram, and Glenn; and sister Sandra.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Creek County Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter #9.
There will be a visitation from 3:00-6:00pm, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Services will be 11:00am, Monday, February 22, 2021 also at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma, 918-247-7373.
