Larry Wayne Vanarsdel, 70, of Kiefer, Oklahoma passed away unexpectedly on February 10th at home with his family.
Larry was born on October 27, 1950 to Joe and Edna Vanarsdel in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. After graduating from Kiefer High School in 1968, he continued his education at North Eastern Oklahoma.
In High school, Larry met his wife Elaine Duncan. They went on to wed in 1970 and began their life together.
Larry was a force of nature. He was determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He continually mentioned how proud he was of his beautiful wife and boys.
Larry retired after 25 years as assistant chief for the Kiefer Fi
re Department; where he was a hero to many.
Anyone who knew Larry, knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Larry was preceded by his parents Joe Vanarsdel and Edna Vanarsdel; his sister Marcella Noris, and great-nephew Jack Ryran Vanarsdel. He is survived by his wife Elaine Vanarsdel; his children Greg Vanarsdel, Brad Vanarsdel and Tim Vanarsdel; grandchildren Lexie Vanarsdel, Garrett Vanarsdel, Gunner Vanarsdel, Hunter Vanarsdel, Cheyli Vanarsdel, Peyton Vanarsdel, Gracey Vanarsdel and Timber Vanarsdel; brother Bill Vanarsdel; nieces and nephews Steve and Carolyn Vanarsdel, Gary and Wendy Vanarsdel and Scott and Tara Vanarsdel; great-nieces and nephews Tiffany, Nicole, Cory, Rryan, Cathryn, Cara, and Cami.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Traditions Funeral Home, 35 S. Main, Kellyville. There will be a memorial to celebrate his life at 2pm, Friday, February 26 at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville Oklahoma.
