IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leon
Leverett
August 28, 1931 – December 29, 2024
Leon Leverett, 93, of Kellyville Oklahoma, was returned to be with the Lord on December 29th, 2024, at home surrounded by friends and family. He was born August 28th, 1931, just south of Bristow to J.W and Mattie I. Leverett. He graduated from Kellyville High School in 1949. He and his brother Doyal made a living through their carpentry business, "Leverett Brothers."
Leon met and later married the love of his life, Wanda Jean in February of 1950. He was an avid member of the South Heights Baptist Church of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
Leon served in the United States Army Corps stationed in Gifu, Japan from 1953-1955 in the 5th artillery. We are all grateful for his services in the Korean War.
While he was involved in many activities across his property, as well as buying and selling at flea market in his spare time, his favorite thing was to make time to spend and talk with his family. Leon devoted his life to being a gracious son, brother, husband, father, and grandpa.
Leon enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He loved collecting, and trading coins. Above all he adored making memories with his family.
Leon's soul is one of a kind. His heart was purely filled with love, and he was always ready for a good talk. He lived an honorable life full of joy, laughs and jokes. He will be deeply missed by all of his family, and anyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Mattie I. Leverett, many beloved aunts and uncles, his brothers and sisters, his wife Wanda Leverett, his son-in-law Noel Lemons, his daughter-in-law Sun Ae Leverett, and his granddaughter, Callie Leverett.
He is survived by his brother Doyal Leverett of Bristow, his sisters Lennie and Maudine, 4 loving children, Gail Leverett-Wiley of Duson, Louisiana, Doye Leverett and wife Rebecca of Lafayette, Louisiana, Johnny Leverett of Bristow, and Deena Lemons of Kellyville, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
Services will be Friday, January 3rd, 2 pm, at Traditions Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest after services at the Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa.
Family visitation will be Thursday, January 2nd, 6 pm-8pm at Traditions Funeral Home.
