Lorene (Carr) Whitaker, 86, of Sand Springs, passed from this life Saturday, July 20, 2024. She was born June 18, 1938, in Park Hill, Oklahoma to Roy Lee and Eleanor (Dunn) Carr.

Lorene married Darrell Whitaker on December 20, 1955, and they celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2008.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, spending time with her grandkids and eating ice cream. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.

Lorene is preceded in death by her parents Roy Lee and Eleanor Carr; husband Darrell; five brothers; five sisters and one grandson.

She is survived by sons Donald Whitaker and wife Judy, Clifford Whitaker and Darrell Whitaker and wife Carolyn; daughters Debbie Coonce and husband Ron, Faye Jones and husband Curtis, Glenda Mayberry, Teresa Stroup and Raebecca Whitaker and husband Michael, son Darrell; sister Sandy Davidson husband Ralph and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10am, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Traditions Funeral Chapel in Kellyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, OK, 918-247-7373.
