IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louella Josephine
Yocham
September 18, 1934 – January 1, 2024
Louella Josephine Yocham, 89, of Sapulpa, passed from this life Monday, January 1, 2024. She was born September 18, 1934, in Hackett, Arkansas to Emmanuel Oliver and Mildred Elnora (Durham) Honomichl.
A graduate of Fort Smith High School, Louella married her high school sweetheart, Robert Eugene Yocham, on August 9, 1951. They were blessed to be married for sixty-five years before his passing in 2018. In 1955, Robert and Louella moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma, a place they loved to call home.
A devoted Christian, Louella was the first person who taught many little ones (her grandchildren included) about Jesus in Sunday School. A sleepover at her house always included scripture reading and prayers that listed everyone by name --- she was a prayer warrior.
The best cook, she made sure that no one ever left her house hungry because she fed you whether or not you thought you wanted anything to eat. Crafting, painting, working puzzles, playing games, and eating were always on the agenda at her house. Popcorn balls, yeast bread and cinnamon rolls, millionaire fudge, divinity, baked fudge, biscuits and gravy, potato salad (with her home-canned pickles), turkey salad, pot roast, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese --- and too many more great recipes to name. Any meal eaten around Louella's table was a perfect meal.
Louella also never met a stranger; when she disembarked from a plane or got up from a mall bench from resting, she would know all kinds of details about the person she sat beside --- and she would make their life stories sound so interesting.
Louella is preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene Yocham; parents Emmanuel and Mildred Honomichl; sisters Norma Lee Fowler and Beverly Jane Wells and her son-in-law Leonard Glenn.
She is survived by her brother Ralph Honomichl and his wife Diane, brother Paul Honomichl and his wife Lenora, and her children Paula Glenn, Harlan and Tammy Yocham, and Jeanene and Duwayne Barnett; her five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and ten step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be 5:00pm-6:30pm, Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Sapulpa Holiness Church, 1220 Wickham Rd., Sapulpa, Oklahoma.
