Sapulpa, Oklahoma
Margaret Ann Lucas of Sapulpa passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at the age of 93.
Margaret was born on April 20, 1932, in Kellyville, Oklahoma, to Joseph Wilbert and Ora Hope Beets. She was the middle of five children. Margaret graduated from Kellyville High School in 1950. She earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Oklahoma A&M College in 1953 and went on to teach for 40 years. Margaret loved being a teacher. She was especially fond of teaching kindergarten.
Margaret married her high school sweetheart, Tom Lucas and together, they raised two children, Luanne & David.
Margaret and Tom spent their golden years exploring all of the must-see spots from Mexico to Canada in their Airstream bus. When she wasn't traveling with Tom, she was a content home body, who loved gardening, cooking and her favorite television show, Survivor.
Tom passed away in 2023, just two days after the pair celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
She spent her final years with family and found great joy in the company of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could hold a baby in her arms for hours and loved feeding bottles to her great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her lifelong dedication to education, her deep love for family, her gentle patient care of children, and her kind generous spirit.
