Obituary

Margie Ann Ennis

Margie Ann Ennis, 92, of Kellyville, peacefully entered her heavenly home on August 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 23, 1933, in Okfuskee, Oklahoma, to Homer and Emma (Gage) Reid, Margie grew up in a close-knit family and graduated from Pharoah High School with the Class of 1951. That same year, on June 16, she married the love of her life, Orvel Leon Ennis, in Okemah. Together they built a beautiful life filled with hard work, love, and devotion to family.

Margie worked for many years at the Miss Elaine sewing factory in Bristow, where her skill and attention to detail shone. After retirement, her greatest joy came from helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, pouring into their lives the same love and care she had always shown her own children.

A gifted and creative soul, Margie was an accomplished artist in many forms—drawing, painting, sewing, and quilting. Her hands created beauty that now lives on in the homes and hearts of family and friends. She was also an adventurer at heart, loving to travel with Orvel and their family. Many weekends were spent at the lake, fishing, laughing, and making memories together.

Family was the heartbeat of Margie's life. She delighted in Sunday dinners, family reunions, and cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—especially when they played basketball. Margie was a devoted member of Westside Freewill Baptist Church in Sapulpa, where she found joy and fellowship quilting alongside the ladies of the church. Over her lifetime, she made more than 150 quilts, each one a labor of love that wrapped others in warmth and comfort.

Margie is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Orvel; brothers Havner, Olen, Cecil, and Henry Reid; sisters Dortha Chunn, Ruth Ford, Bessie Ennis, Jessie Morris, Jeannie Morris, and Sue Upton; and her great-grandchild, Luke Stone.

She is survived by her four children: Pamela Hedman and husband Roy of Mannford, Micheal Ennis and wife Jeanetta of Kellyville, Sheila Bryan and husband Greg of Kellyville, and Felicia Phillips of Sand Springs; brother Fred Reid and wife Wilma of Cookson; sister Ida Casey of Texas; 12 grandchildren: Jennifer Barbee (TJ), Brenda Nance (Kevin), Jeremy Ennis (Brandi), Heather Haskins (Mike), Melissa Stone (Patrick), Traelynn Osborne (Eric), Justin Ennis (Christy), Melanie Robinson (Scott), Yancey Phillips (Cortney), Alex Bryan (Brittany), Zach Bryan, and Melinda Agee (Brady); 24 great-grandchildren: Hannah, Jazmine, Sarah, Shay, Tayen, and AJ Barbee, Easton and Braylon Nance, Jonah, River, Nathanael, and Jordan Ennis, Grant, Gideon, and Elsie Haskins, Caleb, Isaac, Levi, and Silas Stone, Kamdon and Grace Osborne, Natalie and Noah Robinson, and Maggie Phillips; and a host of extended family and dear friends too numerous to count.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ennis, Justin Ennis, Yancey Phillips, Alex Bryan, Zach Bryan, and Brady Agee. Honorary pallbearers will include Fred Reid, Roy Hedman, and Greg Bryan. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services, 35 S. Main, Kellyville, Oklahoma.

A viewing at Traditions Funeral Services will be held on Friday August 22, 2025, from 6-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Westside Freewill Baptist Church in Sapulpa. Burial will be 10 am, Monday, August 25, 2025, at Kellyville City Cemetery.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Granny's love was stitched into every quilt she made — one thread, one prayer, one quiet offering at a time.  Her hands moved with grace and purpose, transforming scraps of fabric into heirlooms of warmth and memory.  Each square told a story, carried a hope, or held the soft echo of someone she cherished.  These quilts were more than blankets; they were her gentle way of wrapping us in her presence, even when she was miles away.  They covered us through storms, comforted us in sickness, and anchored us to home no matter how far we wandered.  In every careful stitch was her unwavering love — the quiet kind, never boastful, always steady, always known.
Her faith in Jesus was the soft rhythm beneath it all; unspoken, but deeply lived.  She didn't need to declare it; she embodied it. In the meals she prepared, the burdens she helped carry, the family she constantly lifted in prayer — Granny's life was a living gospel.  From that deep well of faith flowed a love so wide, so unconditional, it shaped the very fabric of who we are.  Every Sunday dinner, every hand-sewn quilt, every whispered prayer, woven tightly together in a legacy of faith, family, and fierce, everlasting love.
